As part of the large-scale renovation of the Edo-Tokyo Museum, the project involved spatial direction and the design of special exhibitions. A 30-meter-wide illuminated noren curtain was installed beyond the Nihonbashi bridge, marking the transition point from the entrance. Passing through it, visitors shift from the present into the world of Edo.
In the special exhibition “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo,” the display was conceived to reveal the continuity between Edo and present-day Tokyo. The prints were treated as illustrations in a guidebook, with custom frames designed to resemble an open book.
In the armor exhibition, eleven suits of armor were arranged to allow viewing from all angles. Uniform lighting casts shadows across the complex structures, creating a space with a quiet sense of tension.
東京都江戸東京博物館の大規模改修に伴い、空間演出および特集展示のデザインを担当。入口から続く日本橋の先に幅約30mの光の「のれん」を設置し、そこをくぐることで現代から江戸へと場面が切り替わる体験を構築した。 特集展示「名所江戸百景」では、江戸と東京の風景のつながりを示す展示を企画。版画をガイドブックの挿絵に見立て、本を開いたような額装を施した。甲冑の展示では11領を360度鑑賞できる構成を採用。均質な光が複雑な構造に陰影を落とし、空間に静かな緊張感を生み出している。
