Tangent designed a new trophy for the Lexus Design Award, an honor the studio itself received in 2013 as the Grand Prix winner. This one-of-a-kind trophy was crafted with Urushi, a traditional Japanese natural lacquer. Using the Byakudan technique, the trophy's body was coated with silver before applying a thin layer of lacquer. Over the years, the lacquer layer becomes increasingly transparent due to sunlight exposure, and the underlying silver coating enhances the trophy's shine, creating a celebration for its recipient.

Tangentは、レクサスデザインアワードのために、自身も2013年にグランプリを受賞した名誉あるスタジオとして特別なトロフィーをデザインしました。この唯一無二のトロフィーは、日本の伝統的な漆で制作された。白檀技法を駆使し、トロフィー本体には銀箔が施され、その上に薄い漆の層が塗られました。経年とともに漆の透明度が増し、下にある銀箔がトロフィーの輝きを一層引き立て、受賞者にとっての特別な瞬間を彩っています。
