A public artwork created for the Tanegashima Space Art Festival. Installed on the weathered facade of Minamitane High School—closed in 2010—the glowing ring emitted light that intertwined with the aged concrete, conjuring a new cosmic landscape within the architecture shaped by time. Despite its remote location, Tanegashima is home to Japan’s largest rocket launch site and serves as a vital hub for space exploration.

種子島宇宙芸術祭のために制作したパブリックアート。2010年に閉校した南種子高校の校舎の壁面に設置されたリングから放たれる光が、風化したコンクリートと複雑に絡み合い、時を刻んだ建築の中に新たな宇宙の情景を浮かび上がらせた。日本最大のロケット発射拠点を有する種子島は、離島でありながら宇宙開発の最前線として知られている。
